These are the last two books in our review series, but that doesn’t mean they are our least favorites in the stack.
Red and Lulu by Matt Tavares and And Then Comes Christmas by Tom Brenner
Red and Lulu is a story about a pair of cardinals, their home in the Rockefeller Christmas tree and an adventurous journey to reunite in New York City. The illustrations are beautiful, which is a common theme in our family’s book choices this year.
And Then Comes Christmas is written by a local author, Tom Brenner. We’ve been to his book readings, he has come to read at Honeybee when he releases new books, we just generally like him and his poetic books! His books are easy to read, have a wonderful cadence, and easily inspire art projects in the classroom or at the dining table.
