Bear Stays Up for Christmas by Karma Wilson and Jane Chapman

Ella says “this book is funny, has great illustrations that help tell the story, and is easy to read for new readers.” She remembers reading it when she was younger, really liking that the words were easy to predict because of the rhymes.”

Ella’s other pick for today is Merry Christmas, Strega Nona by Tomie dePaola. She has always loved Strega Nona books for the element of magic, the sense of humor de Paola brings to his books, and for the little bits of Italian that are mixed into each book. She especially loves this book because “it is funny, the characters are lovable and the illustrations are bright and cheerful.”
